TWO AMBITIOUS REYNAERS PROJECTS SHORTLISTED IN TALL BUILDING AWARDS 2022

Reynaers Aluminium UK Ltd has been shortlisted in this year’s Tall Buildings Awards for two ambitious city centre projects. And in a move to demonstrate its continuous commitment to a vital part of the industry, has also signed up to sponsor the coveted Best Tall Building Architect category for these prestigious awards.

The first of the company’s projects was shortlisted for the Best Tall Building Façade & Fenestration Engineering Project category. Utilising the company’s unitised curtain walling system, the Hadrian’s Tower building project stands at 82 metres and is the tallest building project undertaken in Newcastle-upon-Tyne – transforming the city skyline.

Reynears has also been shortlisted in the Best Residential Tall Building Project category for The Lexington in Liverpool. This project also uses Reynaers’ unitised curtain walling system on the 34-storey New York inspired tower structure, and called for the consult team to overcome the complex challenge of installing the curtain wall system in a constrained environment. Further, the location of the building on the city’s well-loved waterfront meant that the glazing solution had to meet the highest standards of thermal insulation and strength.

Dan Gleeson, Head of Commercial Sales at Reynaers, said: “We’ve been involved in iconic tall building projects across the world since 1965, so it made perfect sense for us to support and sponsor these well respected industry awards.

“It’s also an honour to be shortlisted for two awards. Both projects are perfect examples of ambitious architecture at its best, and it’s this level of excellence which this category celebrates.

“In both projects we deployed our unitised curtain walling system to help the architects to achieve panoramic views and a distinctive aesthetic. This has been done without compromising on thermal performance, quality, accuracy, water and air tightness and strength while accommodating building movement which is a key factor in tall buildings.

“Our unitised façade systems provide slim profile designs for architects which meet the highest performance requirements. Both projects are in city centre locations on constrained sites, so prefabrication of the systems offsite in a climate-controlled environment under strict quality assurance significantly speeded up installation without compromising on accuracy or safety.”

The winners of the Tall Buildings Awards will be announced on July 19th at the Tall Buildings Conference in London, and you can find out more here – www.tallbuildingsawards.co.uk
